The Who Announce Concert With Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra At Royal Sandringham Estate

The Who have announced an historic music concert with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The show will feature The Who’s full live band comprised of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, guitarist / backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey, and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls, along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby, and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.

Music from the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy and Quadrophenia, as well as songs from their 2019 WHO album will be played at the concert.

Richard Ashcroft and The Lightning Seeds will perform at the event as special guests.

The momentous outdoor summer show will be a special finale to their 2023 The Who Hits Back! UK tour, and is part of the first extensive live music events to be held at the Royal Sandringham Estate.

This will be the only show on The Who’s 2023 tour which will see them perform alongside the iconic Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Pete Townshend said, “Opening up the Estate to large scale concerts is a fantastic way of keeping us uplifted and enjoying congregation at what I’m sure will be a fabulous summer celebration.”
