Rush’s Geddy Lee To Release Memoir In Fall 2022

A memoir written by Rush lead vocalist and bassist Geddy Lee will be published in the Fall of 2022.

In a lengthy social media post, Lee said he started writing the yet untitled book as he was struggling in the aftermath of drummer Neil Peart‘s death, “locked down for over a year and a half – the longest time I’d spent in Toronto,” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Describing the difficult writing process, Lee said his “baby-step stories were becoming grownup chapters.”

“I’d write and re-write them, reassessing perspectives in the narrative not just by scouring my memory banks but my diaries and piles of photo albums too. I was piecing together a mystery of a different kind,” he added.

Lee said his friend and collaborator on the “Big Beautiful Book of Bass,” Daniel Richler helped him refine his written matter.

The untitled memoir, edited by Noah Eaker, will be published by HarperCollins.
