Ronnie Wood Becomes Ambassador For Addiction Recovery Charity

Veteran Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood has become an ambassador for addiction recovery charity, Turn Up For Recovery. Wood announced his new position on social media on Wednesday (May 5).

“Their mission is a subject very close to my heart and I am so honored to become an ambassador for this brilliant organisation,” he wrote on Instagram.

“@turnup4recovery bring people together through music to support recovery for addicts, and their friends and family,” he continued. “To become a part of that is my way of giving back, as I am so grateful for all the care and support I’ve received along the way, in my recovery.”

The 73-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee successfully fought lung cancer and small-cell carcinoma.

Founded by Eric Clapton‘s wife Melia in 2019, Turn Up For Recovery is a charitable movement aiming to raise awareness of abstinence-based recovery, tackle the stigma of addiction and help make treatment affordable to people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.
