Rod Stewart And Son’s Plea Deal On Battery Charge Falls Through

Rod Stewart and his adult son are set to stand trial on battery charges after a plea deal between the British rock icon and Florida prosecutors fell through on Friday, October 22.

Palm Beach County Judge August Bonavita announced that a plea deal hearing for Rod and Sean had been canceled. Neither Rod nor his son Sean, 41, were present at the hearing. The pair are now scheduled to stand trial on misdemeanor battery charges on January 25.

Stewart and his son will stand trial on allegations by security guard Jessie Dixon that Rod punched him in the ribs during a row over access to a private party in a children’s area in 2019.

If convicted, the Stewarts are facing a year in jail, or probation and a $1,000 fine.
