‘Rockfield: The Studio On The Farm’ To Feature Members Of Black Sabbath, Oasis & More

Rockfield: The Studio On The Farm, a documentary that tells the story of a legendary recording studio in the Welsh countryside, will feature interviews with some of the biggest names in rock music.

The documentary features Led Zeppelin‘s Robert Plant, Black Sabbath‘s Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi, Liam Gallagher of Oasis, and Chris Martin of Coldplay, among others.

In the film, the bands share tales of how they ended up at Rockfield, what it was like, and revisit some of the magical moments of musical genius that resulted in some of the best-known songs of the time.

“This is the unlikely tale of how two Welsh farming brothers turned their dairy farm into one of the most successful recording studios of all time, producing four decades of legendary rock music,” according to a synopsis about the documentary.

Rockfield, the world’s first independent residential recording studio, was launched by brothers Kingsley and Charles Ward deep in the Welsh countryside 50 years ago.

Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Queen, Simple Minds, Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers and Coldplay are some of the bands and musicians who have recorded at the studio over the decades.

Rockfield: The Studio On The Farm, directed by Hannah Berryman, was screened at several international film festivals.

Abramorama has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the documentary, which will be released digitally on May 14.
