Meat Loaf, Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler and many others paid tribute to Jim Steinman, the late Grammy-winning composer and lyricist.

Steinman passed away on Tuesday, April 20, reportedly from kidney failure. He was 73.

“Coming here soon, my brother Jimmy. Fly Jimmy fly,” Meat Loaf wrote on social media. He also posted a few of photographs of the two from their career.

“Jim will always live in my heart and my soul. I will miss you,” Meat Loaf posted the following day.

Steinman was a long-time collaborator with Meat Loaf. He was composer on Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell, which featured classics like “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,” “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” and “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.”

“I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Jim Steinman,” Dion wrote on Instagram late Tuesday. “He was a musical genius… an amazing producer and songwriter… and having the opportunity to work with him was one of the greatest privileges of my career. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Steinman won a Grammy for his production on Dion’s 1996 release Falling Into You and won the BMI Song Of The Year award for Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now”.

“Jim wrote and produced some of the most iconic rock songs of all time and I was massively privileged to have been given some of them by him,” Tyler wrote. “I made two albums with Jim, despite my record company initially thinking he wouldn’t want to work with me, thankfully they were wrong.”

Steinman worked with Tyler on her 1983 classic “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
