KISS Share New Live Version Of ‘Lick It Up’

Rock icons KISS recently released a new live version of their song, “Lick It Up.”

Originally released in 1983, the new track was recorded at a live show at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater on their cross-country “Rock The Nation” tour in 2004.

Notably, the trek was the first-ever tour that featured Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer in the lineup.

“Lick It Up” is famous in its own right, as it is the first KISS song to have an accompanying promotional music video that included the makeup-free faces of the bandmembers, who are known for their black-and-white makeup looks.

The live version of “Lick It Up” is featured on the band’s recently announced official bootleg Off The Soundboard: Live In Virginia Beach.

The 20-song, career-spanning set is slated to be released as a collection this March, and also includes such classics as “I Love It Loud” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You,” among others.

The collection is slated for release on March 11 and is available as a three-LP standard black vinyl set, a two-CD set, and a limited edition three-LP set pressed on 180-gram opaque green vinyl.
