Journey’s Neal Schon Auctioning Off 112 Electric And Acoustic Guitars

Heritage Auctions will offer 112 guitars from the extraordinary and expansive museum-quality collection of Journey co-founder Neal Schon on July 31.

Schon is auctioning the instruments to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the rock band, along with Journey’s return to studio and stage.

At the heart of this auction is the 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Black Solid Body guitar that Schon used on 1981’s chart-topping Escape.

“These are guitars I’ve been collecting for a very long time, and it’s time to let go of some of my collection to make room for new arrivals,” Schon said.

The auction takes place the very week Journey returns to the stage as one of the Lollapalooza headliners in Chicago, alongside the likes of Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus and Tyler, the Creator.

Journey has also just finished its 15th studio album, the band’s first in a decade.
