John Mellencamp has announced that his highly anticipated new album Strictly A One-Eyed Jack is set for release on January 21 on Republic Records.

Accompanying the announcement, Mellencamp shared a new track from the album, titled “Chasing Rainbows.”

“A long, long time ago / When I used to chase rainbows / I thought there was a pot of gold / When I got to the end / But there were many people there / And I said, ‘What are you doing here?’ / They said they were looking for the end of the rainbow,” the singer-songwriter, who is known for his catchy brand of heartland rock, sings on the track.

The album features the previously released Bruce Springsteen duet “Wasted Days,” which continues to receive widespread critical acclaim.
