Gal Gadot Admits Cover Of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ Was ‘In Poor Taste’

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot reflected on her 2020 rendition of John Lennon “Imagine” in an interview with InStyle for the magazine’s February issue.

The video, which featured a number of well-known faces, including Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan, Jimmy Fallon and Natalie Portman, sharing their vocals along with the Red Notice star, received a scathing backlash for being “tone-deaf” judging by what the world was going through at the time.

Admitting the failure of the infamous video, the former Miss Israel said, “I was seeing where everything was headed. But [the video] was premature. It wasn’t the right timing, and it wasn’t the right thing. It was in poor taste. All pure intentions, but sometimes you don’t hit the bull’s-eye, right?”

In a previous interview with Vanity Fair, the 36-year-old star had explained that she had “nothing but good intentions” behind organizing the video, but that the recording “didn’t transcend.”
