Dolly Parton confirmed during a recent appearance on “The View” that her new Rock Star album will feature Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and several other top stars.
“If I’m gonna be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I’m gonna have to do something to earn it,” she told the show’s hosts.
Dolly said that she is trying to bring in Mick Jagger and Elton John as well for the album. She noted that although she is “doing my best” to get Jagger on the album, the Rolling Stones‘ song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” will appear on the LP with Pink and Brandi Carlile as guests.
Dolly confirmed that John Fogerty, former Journey singer Steve Perry and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler are also on board and added that she’s also been searching around for the right song she can sing with Cher.
“That’s gonna be a big thrill, I think,” Dolly said of a potential duet with Cher. She had said last month during her appearance on “Tonight Show” that the album would be a mix of originals, and covers of songs by Prince, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.
