Bob Dylan Calls Sexual Abuse Lawsuit A ‘Brazen Shakedown’

Bob Dylan is calling the sexual abuse lawsuit filed against him in New York last year a “brazen shakedown” to extract a huge amount of money out of him.

“This case – based on plaintiff’s alleged interactions with Bob Dylan more than 56 years ago – is a brazen shakedown masquerading as a lawsuit,” reads a response filed by Dylan’s lawyers in state court in Manhattan. “It was filed in bad faith for the improper purpose of extracting a huge payout on the threat of negative publicity. The allegation is false, malicious, reckless and defamatory. Mr. Dylan will not be extorted.”

In August last year, a lawsuit was filed against Dylan accusing the legendary musician of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in 1965.

The now-68-year-old woman, identified as J.C. in the lawsuit filed in New York City, alleged that the singer sexually abused her multiple times between April and May of 1965.

Dylan “exploited his status as a musician by grooming J.C. to gain her trust and to obtain control over her as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse J.C.,” the lawsuit claims.

Dylan and his lawyers further slammed the plaintiff, saying, “According to her own website, plaintiff is a psychic who specializes in ‘channeling’ the deceased loved ones of grieving families – for a fee.”

The response also alleges that the accuser had not only claimed she had been abducted by aliens, she also claims that “she speaks to cats, dogs and other animals – alive and dead – as well as insects and plants.”
