KOOL Cause of the Month: February

About Habitat For Humanity Metro Denver
Habitat for Humanity is a homeownership program that builds and sells homes to low-income families in need of decent and affordable shelter.  Habitat homes are not given away.  Partner families are required to put in 250-500 hours of sweat equity labor to help build their home, and make monthly mortgage payments on a zero-percent interest loan. Habitat for Humanity is about so much more than building houses. Decent, affordable housing allows families to break the cycle of poverty, and have a firm foundation upon which to build better lives.

Since 1979, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver has provided nearly 400 families with stable, affordable housing from which they can grow and thrive.  Habitat Metro Denver is currently building our first green, transit-oriented development in metro Denver.  This unique project will help change the lives of 24 low-income families who will become homeowners for the first time.  Local volunteer and financial support will help us build these 24 homes.  Get involved today and help change lives and transform our community.

Become a Donor
Habitat for Humanity is a grassroots organization that relies on local donations to help build affordable homes in our community. Please consider making a financial donation, or look into home sponsorship opportunities for your company or faith community.

Become a Volunteer
Habitat for Humanity relies on volunteers in every facet of the organization.  Volunteers help build homes, work in the Habitat office, volunteer on a committee, or help at one of Habitat’s Home Improvement Outlets.

Habitat’s Home Improvement Outlets
Habitat’s Home Improvement Outlets accept donations of new or used home improvement items (including tools, furniture, appliances and much more) and sell them to the public at up to 80% off.  Habitat has two conveniently located Outlets in Denver and Wheat Ridge.  Visit www.habitatoutlet.org to learn more.

KOOL105 Partners with the Daniels Fund to Honor Nonprofits

KOOL 105 is proud to partner with the Daniels Fund for our Cause of the Month.  Philanthropist Bill Daniels loved American and believed each of us has a duty to offer help and hope to others.  He established the Daniels Fund in 1997 to support programs that encourage personal responsibility and achievement.  When Bill died in the year 2000, the bulk of his estate transferred to Daniels Fund, making it the largest foundation in the Rocky Mountain Region at that time.

Bill Daniels directed that the Daniels Fund, a private foundation, concentrate its giving in two primary areas:  college scholarships and grants to community nonprofits.  The grants program is designed to help the homeless, youth, elderly, and individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, as well as those struggling with substance abuse.
